THE SEDER IN HAIFA (SPRING, 1975)
Esther Broner writes: "In spite of these interruptions something so startling had happened in that sweet clementine season, something so different emerged from our apartment with its terrazzo floors, that we could actually hear the difference out the window.
At the base of Mount Carmel, in the middle or at the top of the mountain, the Jewish citizens of Haifa were reading and singing the Passover service. But our songs had different lyrics."
