THE SEDER IN HAIFA (SPRING, 1975)
The Haifa Seder was not without dissension.
Esther Broner writes: "Some of the Israelis resisted this role change, certainly our neighbors. The father and son kept to their chairs during the cooking, serving, cleaning up. The woman of the family bawled out an invited singer with, `What will you be when you grow older without a man? Your voice will go and then you'll be nothing.' The woman singer stopped singing."
