The Women's Haggadah: Righteous Women
(Quoted Directly from the Section: Regendering the Haggadah)
We have amended the opening words of the traditional Haggadah, "Thou shalt tell thy sons on that day, `This is on account of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.'"
Instead, we say, "Thou shalt tell thy daughters on that day, `This is on account of what the Shekhinah did for me when I came out of Egypt,' for we are not sons but descendants of Righteous Women, the Midwives, Shipra and Puah, Yocheved, the mother of Moses, and Miriam his sister. We were led forth by the Ruach, the Spirit, the Shekhinah."
